Shallow Holes
The Little Beaver is essentially a one-man power auger. It is used rarely because there are only a few situations where it is best suited.
The machine is ideal for areas that we cannot access with the Big Beaver, yet must have holes larger than 2″ diameter (i.e., larger than we can do with the Pionjar or Rota-Hammer or PEP).
Another application is drilling in very tight access where there is significant gravel or collapsing material in the shallow subsurface – we can auger in a hollow stem auger to act as a “casing” so that we can use the Rota-Hammer to advance split spoons beyond the base of the hollow stem.
Because the machine operates hydraulically, we can use our 100ft long hydraulic hoses so that we eliminate fumes for indoor drilling.
As this machine is for very unique situations, we suggest calling us to discuss its suitability prior to planning your project with this drill.
